ABOUT RACH

Hi! I'm Rach, a North East film-maker with roots in Hartlepool and Newcastle. I specialise in directing/1st AD, editing and camera operating, but I also have experience with on-set & post sound, theatre lighting and script writing.

My editing software of choice is Adobe Premier Pro, but I have some experience with Avid, using it to edit a 30 second advert for the 2022-2023 Kodak Nahomi awards.

I've worked with both Blackmagic pocket 6k pros and mini Ursas, as well as the Panasonic AG-HPX170 P2HD Solid-State Camcorder

I pride myself in being knowledgeable in as many different areas of film as possible, with a desire to 'get stuck in'

UPCOMING PROJECTS

MACBETH - NT LIVE

ADIDAS KODAK ADVERT

'It's Everyone's Game'

For the Macbeth NT Live I was one of the camera operators on the stage for the first half of the show, meaning I had to learn the actors' blocking and lines well in advance as well as learn to multitask when listening to the director on the cans system.
The Adidas Kodak advert was edited by me on Avid, a system I had to learn how to use very quickly. I took initiative as an editor when my director fell ill, creating a separate file titled "editor's choices" so I could continue the edit, and this ultimately formed the final edit.
Below is a selection of my previous work, with a brief description and the roles I had on the project

PREVIOUS WORK

THE LAST TO LEAVE THE PARTY

ONE GLASS AWAY

The Last to Leave The Party was a short film I directed across a 9 week turnaround, and then went on to amend the post sound after the university hand-in date. The film has seen great success, with a screening selection and then nomination for the Tees Valley International Film Festival LGBTQIA+ category.
One Glass Away was my first editing role at university, but not my first ever edit, as I studied a BTEC film production course in college that taught me how to use premier pro. This film tested my editing skills, as with camera cuts  and angle changes I had to match character movements perfectly - eg. when a character sits down onto the booth.
